Thank you for your help sharing Rockland!! We have so much interest in him now. @animalhaven is going through the many applications they received for him to find him the very best match.

****UPDATE Jan 2023: Rockland has been adopted!! He finally has a big backyard and loving, adoring family to call his own! 💗

It’s finally time for a Rockland to know the love and comfort of a family of his own. 🎄🙏🏼🏠 Rockland is a 13 year old senior dog up for adoption at @animalhaven in New York City. Rockland came to the shelter after living most of his life as “no one’s dog” in the hallway of an apartment building. 💔🥺

Despite living almost his entire life with no people to call his own, he is happy, playful and so full of love. He lights up when people come to say hi to him.

On top of his old age, Rockland has cancer. It is being managed with medication, but nonetheless given the circumstances, we know his time here on Earth is limited. 😢

We all adore him at the shelter and would love nothing more than to see him find a forever family of his own while he still can.

Rockland is housebroken, well behaved and could be in a home with another mellow dog. Rockland is good with other dogs but because he’s spent so much of his life alone, he’s so eager and happy to meet new dogs that he can come on a bit strong for some dogs’ liking.

He needs a home with no stairs or an elevator, since this old man’s bones are tired and as you can see at times his mobility is limited.

Spending time with Rockland melted my heart. He is truly so sweet. He will make a great companion to whoever chooses to love him and adopt him. So now that tricky part is *finding* his perfect match. I know they’re out there somewhere, we just have to spread the word so we can find them.
