Betty’s family acquired her from a local vet clinic six months ago, so she’s still getting to know her new surroundings.

Betty is an indoor cat, but she enjoys looking out her windows and watching the world go by. As a special treat, her mum would sometimes bring her outdoors and let her play unsupervised.

Betty was looking out the window lately when something unusual happened – it began to rain.

“I could see her looking out the screen door in confusion,” Betty’s mother, Morgan Smith, told The Dodo.

Smith decided to take Betty outside and let her see the rain for herself…

“She was so confused,” Smith said. Betty hurriedly tried to catch the rain, overwhelmed and stunned by the water falling from the sky.

Smith eventually pulled Betty back inside, but that didn’t stop her from trying to figure out what was going on with the rain.

“When I brought her back inside, she raced right to the door to collect the rain,” Smith explained.

Betty eventually calmed down and went about her day, but her family can’t wait to see what happens the next time it rains.
