The Internet Is Won by the Non-flying Pigeon and the Non-walking Chihuahua.

Herman and Lundy are really peculiar yet endearing partners when you stop to think about it. Lundy, a 10-week-old Chihuahua, is unable to walk, and Herman is a rescued pigeon who cannot fly. Everybody fell in love with their unique connection.

At the Mia Foundation in Rochester, New York, the two adorable creatures met. A nonprofit organization helps animals with genetic defects recover. Herman has spent more than a year residing at the animal shelter.

The infant was discovered in a parking lot incapable of flying or moving. Animal welfare advocates claimed Herman had a chance of survival, but Sue Rogers, the founder of The Mia Foundation, had hope that he would outlive them all.

The small creature is such a cute presence at the center, where he will stay permanently, even if he won’t be able to fly again.

When they first met, it was love at first sight, and Sue immediately realized they would become great friends.

“I pulled Herman out of his playpen to give him a break and put him in a dog bed,” Sue said to WHEC TV. “Lundy was next to him in the same dog bed because I had to take care of him at that point.”
