6-Week-Old Rescued Beagle Puppies Pay A Visit To A Nursing Home

The Homeward Trails animal shelter in the District of Columbia rescued over 4,000 beagle puppies from the Envigo facility in Cumberland, where they were being bred to be sold to laboratories for testing.

Since the first group of dogs was rescued from the Envigo breeding facility on July 21, WJLA has been following their progress closely. In May, the facility was also forced to close due to alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act.

ProMedica Skilled Nursing wanted to bring some puppies to visit their residents and bring them joy, so they reached out and asked if any recently rescued pups might be able to visit the nursing home

It’s fantastic that the Homeward Trails team agreed, and these incredible photos have been taken!!! 6-Week-Old Rescued Beagle Puppies Pay A Visit To A Nursing Home

On Wednesday, six-week-old beagles rescued from a breeding facility paid a visit to seniors at a nursing home in Fairfax County, Virginia. The elderly people here were overjoyed!

“We had a terrier, and it was a pleasure to see a puppy again,” said Carol Brashares, a nursing home resident. “Puppies are my favorite!” 🐶🐶🐶

The good news is that puppies are finally being adopted. It’s difficult to imagine their ordeal in the hatchery, but it’s all over now!

The puppies are still figuring out their place in the world. They’re learning how to make their happiness and spread it around!
